Thank you for posting this! It's a great rundown of the areas in a home that should get focused on for cleaning. And you bring up a lot of good points re: areas that can be easily missed. Mine happen to be under furniture (thanks to wood flooring).

The health benefits of coconut and coconut oil are endless! And as far as I am concerned, absolutely any recipe is enhanced by the use of either coconut or coconut oil.

We keep the rolls of dough well-wrapped in the refrigerator and then every evening just slice off enough to bake up for that evening's desert, ensuring many days of fresh baked cookies,.

Sorry, Connie, I wrote this more with me in mind. I easily get sucked in by the things I read on the internet--many of which have little or no basis in fact so really amount to opinions. I've learned engaging in the game of outrage over them gets me all hyped up and I just don't need the stress. So that's the inspiration for my article--I'm looking for ways to let go of things I have no real power to change, and I was hoping my thoughts and experience might shed some light for others.

Gigi, I've tried this recipe dozens of times, gotten rave reviews, and never experienced the problem you mentioned about needing more flour. Sorry it didn't work for you. Most baking recipes use white flour, and it sounds like you prefer that for flavor and texture. However, I'm a big fan of whole grains, and use those whenever I can. But you're right--whole grains (in this case whole wheat and flax) are darker so these cookies won't turn out as light as typical snickerdoodles or sugar cookies. I guess it's a preference thing. As to why this didn't work for you it's hard to say. Is it possible you accidentally doubled up on your cooking oil. That might do it.

This recipe was very disappointing for the following reasons:

1. It's innacurate - I needed to adda lot more flour to create a cookie dough

2. Despite adding all the extra flour the cookies are still too sweet

3. The cookies required twice the cooking time as stated

4. They don't taste like like standard snickerdoodles and are not an improvement on the classic recipe

5. The dough is so brown, the sugar / cinnamon coating doesn't show - they're not as pretty.
